Lance Bass wants the best for Britney Spears.

The 41-year-old singer has said he ”totally supports” the #FreeBritney movement that was set up on social media for fans to advocate for the end of Britney’s conservatorship, which she has been under since 2008.

And as the ‘Toxic’ hitmaker is currently locked in a court battle to ensure her father, Jamie Spears, doesn’t regain his sole conservator role, Lance has said he hopes the situation ”works out for the best”.

He said: ”I totally support #FreeBritney. I hope everyone figures out exactly what is happening in her life. I do believe that things are settling the way they should be …There’s a judge in charge of all this, so we really need to just trust the judge in the situation and know that things will work out for the best.

”We all love her and I’m very open to finding out what’s going on, but at the end of the day you’ve no idea what’s going on.”

The former NSYNC star also said he’s spoken to Britney’s younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears about the situation, and insisted her family are ”doing the right thing”.

He told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: ”I have talked to Jamie Lynn recently, which is why I feel so much better about this situation. They aren’t as worried as we are. [People] have no idea what’s really going on. So we just have to trust that the loved ones around her are doing the right thing.

”The one thing that I do know is, I know Jamie Lynn … If Jamie is OK with everything going on, I feel like she really has her sister’s back during all this. So I trust her to give us the real information.”

Britney’s current legal battle sees her fighting to ensure her father Jamie isn’t involved in her conservatorship going forward, as she believes he treats her ”like a child”.

Jamie temporarily stepped down from the role in 2019 for health reasons, but Britney doesn’t want him in control of life again.

Last month, the ‘Womanizer’ hitmaker said she was ”strongly opposed” to having her dad return as sole conservator and would ”prefer” for her current conservator, Jodi Montgomery – who took over when Jamie was battling with his health – to stay in the role.

Elle Fanning | Elle Fanning stars in Gucci film series

elle fanning 2171429

Elle Fanning has partnered up with Gucci’s ‘Absolute Beginners’ film series.

The 22-year-old actress has joined the luxury fashion label alongside Jodie Turner-Smith and Kelvin Harrison Jr. to release a series of short films with nine first-time directors to celebrate “the potency of the pop culture and naïveté, the beauty in amateurism, and expose the power and vulnerability of the creative impulse while centering the Gucci Jackie 1961 bag”.

The nine films will be released in two drops on TikTok with the first one – which features Elle, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Jodie Turner-Smith, Benedetta Porcaroli and Emma Corrin – being released on October 28 and the second on November 6.

The second drop will feature films by Lily Gavin, Barry Keoghan, Yoshi, and Arlo Parks.

Speaking about the project, Elle said: “My film is about captivating the nature of Gucci. Even a dog can be hypnotised by its beauty. One night while drifting off to sleep, I thought of this western showdown between a dog and dog owner with a scoreboard keeping tallies of how Gucci always wins.

“Since I am an absolute beginner to directing, I wanted to make a statement with the tone. Yes, this is a fashion film, but why not tell a funny story while looking at sparkling garments?”

Kelvin added: “[My] film is essentially a story about the seemingly ever-present fear of love. The concept initially came from someone I was seeing who told me that the risk of falling in love was greater than the reward. They had come to believe that after so many unsuccessful attempts at sustaining a long-lasting relationship it was unfair to expect anyone to take on their accompanying baggage. It was suggested I may be naive to believe that someone could not only handle the baggage of another, but embrace it with an authorship as if it were their own”.

What’s more, the creator behind the original viral Gucci Model Challenge, Morgan Presley will release a “#GucciAbsoluteBeginners guide to living a Gucci life” video with audio for other creators on TikTok can use to re-create their own Gucci videos.

Jameela Jamil | Jameela Jamil: My clothes allow me to become different characters

jameela jamil 2171335

Jameela Jamil expresses her “different characters” through her clothes.

The 34-year-old actress thinks about her “plural” selves whilst getting ready for a red carpet event as she believes her fashion choices should represent how she feels on a daily basis.

In an interview with ELLE, she said: “I think about looking like my-selves — plural. We have so many different facets to ourselves. All the different characters that live within me come out, day-to-day, in my clothes, so fashion really becomes about, ‘Who do you feel like being today?’ “

However, Jameela admits she often wears oversized clothing as an “armour” to stop people from looking at and judging her body.

She explained: “Normally when I’m wearing a suit, I’m wearing it as armour. I often wear a baggy suit, and I’m deliberately wearing it to be released from my gender, and from anyone speculating at my body shape. It’s asexual and focused.

“I just want to look like a very chic brain, you know? I don’t need people looking at my body all the time, but I do want them to say, ‘She looks cool,’ and I want to feel cool. But I’ll also wear a tight dress and allow my body a moment. Just a moment!”

Meanwhile, ‘The Good Place’ star has openly criticised the Kardashians for promoting unrealistic body goals and but she doesn’t believe in the sisters being cancelled for good because they have the potential to use their fame and fans for good causes.

She explained: “I don’t believe in cancelling people who have the potential to do immense good. That’s incredibly stupid. Harvey Weinstein – cancel him. Cancel people who are a danger to society. The Kardashians, it would be madness not to call them in to help fix the thing they’ve been part of perpetuating. But seeing what Kim has done with prison reform?! That’s a sign of what happens when they utilise their power for good. These are powerful women, and I think they’ve already started changing.”

October 2020 Favourites: The Struts, Beabadoobee and iDKHOW give us nostalgia when we need it most

the struts strange days album art

All in all, it’s been an excellent month for music. In October alone we’ve seen numerous releases that we’re strongly considering for our top 10 albums of the year list, and it seems like 2020 has really made artists want to take us back to a better time. We are more than grateful for that.

The Struts – Strange Days

These glam-rock revivalists have been entertaining us four seven years, but their third album Strange Days is truly something special. They’ve teamed up with everyone from Robbie Williams to Def Leppard on this charismatic retro album, that may be have a nostalgic sound, but lyrically fits very much into 2020.

Beabadoobee – Fake It Flowers

For her debut album, London singer-songwriter Beabadoobee has developed her bedroom pop sound do something more akin to 90s alternative rock. Fake It Flowers has a shoegaze-y, grunge feel that we can’t get enough of, but it’s never afraid to stray into more acoustic-pop territory and even punk. It never takes itself seriously and it’s definitely an album of the year contender.

I Don’t Know How But They Found Me – Razzmatazz

Dallon Weekes and Ryan Seaman introduced their sound quite succinctly with 2018’s 1981 Extended Play, but their debut album Razzmatazz definitely takes that 80s-inspired sound to new heights with a lick of mid-2000s indie rock and Panic! At The Disco-esque baroque pop. It’s fun, it’s flamboyant, and it truly stands out against everything else in the charts this year.

Róisín Murphy – Róisín Machine

We’ve had to wait four years, but Irish trip-hop aficionado Róisín Murphy has returned with a new epic solo album, entitled Róisín Machine. With a new label under her, the record has been quite the tour de force. She’s opted for a nu-disco vibe which never quite leaves the trippy realm of which she’s associated; it’s merely heightened and intensified with her most ambitious production yet.

Dorian Electra – My Agenda

The first thing you’re going to notice from this queer legend’s second studio album is the out-there collabs. You’ve got Rebecca Black on Edgelord (yes, THAT Rebecca Black), and the weirdest combo of The Village People and P***y Riot on the titular My Agenda. Perhaps the strangest thing of all, however, is the fact that it all really works – in the only way hyperpop can work, of course. It’s over-the-top, but you can’t fault the conceptual thrill.

Bruce Springsteen – Letter to You

Musicians like Bruce Springsteen never really go out of fashion, that’s true enough, but there is something special aside from the over-arching musical talent in Letter to You. Instead of trying to reclaim his glory days, The Boss stares age and mortality directly in the face with his latest release, and it’s the most honest and celebratory album we’ve heard from a more senior megastar in a long while.

Nothing But Thieves – Moral Panic

It might not be for everyone, but frankly the kind of unconventional indie-rock we get from Moral Panic is just what the world needs right now. It sees Nothing But Thieves at their most anthemic, and it’s also their most musically cohesive album to date.
