Dax Shepard ”needs surgery” after an accident on a racetrack in California.

The daredevil actor suffered four broken ribs and his clavicle’s (collarbone) broken in three places after he went over the handlebars in a motorcycle accident.

Speaking on his ‘Armchair Expert’ podcast, he recalled: ”I was passing six guys on Sonoma Raceway on a motorcycle and I was braking very, very hard — hard enough that the back wheel was off the ground for a good 100 yards.

”I was totally at blame. I thought I would be able to slide in between, but someone turned in and I was already under full brake and I couldn’t go anywhere.

”I clipped their bumper and I went over the handlebars and I landed pretty hard.”

He continued: ”I’ve been at the hospital for seven hours today.

”The final tally was four broken ribs, the clavicle’s broken in three places, and I need surgery.”

Following the podcast episode airing, the 45-year-old star took to Instagram to thank all the listeners for their concern and get well messages.

Alongside a topless selfie, in which his bruises were on display, he wrote: ”Thank you Armcherries for all the well wishes and concern. I’m in one piece and spirits are high. Sorry for causing concern. (sic)”

In May, Dax’s wife Kristen Bell, 40, revealed her spouse was injured when a vehicle he was travelling in fell over and crushed his hand.

She said: ”He went on an essential off-roading trip right when the quarantine began and it was by himself but he was off-roading in the mountains and he had a buddy with him but they were in separate off-road vehicles and he got to an edge of a cliff. He’s very embarrassed by this injury because the cardinal rule is you don’t put your hands outside the car at any time – that’s the only chance of injury. He was sitting on the edge of a cliff and he put his hand up just to look out and the weight of his arm tipped the [vehicle] over. It did crush all the bones in his hands. Shattered.”

The ‘Frozen’ star explained that Dax was worried about telling her about the accident because he didn’t want to get in ”trouble”.

She added: ”He didn’t call me. He drove home … and the first thing he said when he walked in the door is, ‘I just don’t want to be in trouble.’ Which is crazy because he’s never in trouble with me. I mean, I’ll let you know if I’m disappointed in your actions but I’m an adult, and he’s an adult. I said, ‘You’re not in trouble, but it’s not the smartest move you could have made.”’

Carrie Underwood | Carrie Underwood almost quit American Idol

carrie underwood 2190681

Carrie Underwood almost quit ‘American Idol’ due to her nerves about the finals.

The 37-year-old singer rose to fame after competing in, and winning, the fourth season of the talent competition in 2005, but has now revealed her life could have been very different, as she almost walked away from her ‘American Idol’ audition because she was so scared about performing to a large audience.

Recalling the moment she decided to audition for the show, she said: “The summer before my senior year, I was home one day, watching TV and saw a news segment about people auditioning for the show ‘American Idol’, I checked online. The closest auditions were being held in St. Louis. ‘How far away is St. Louis?’ I asked my mom. ‘Six or seven hours in the car,’ she said. Too far, I thought. Out of the question. ‘Why do you want to know?’ Mom asked. ‘They’re having ‘American Idol’ auditions there.’ ‘I’ll take you.’ Just like that.”

Carrie said she expected the process to be easy, but was left “terrified” of performing in front of the judging panel, and very nearly decided not to go to her audition.

She added to GuidePosts magazine: “It would be easy to say the rest is history, that it was meant to be. But it didn’t feel like that at the time. Going through a slew of auditions in St. Louis, getting the ‘golden ticket’ to Hollywood, every contestant’s dream, I was terrified. Every time I had to sing in front of the judges I’d get nervous the way I did in church that first time. Then I’d say a prayer and leave it in God’s hands.

“All at once it was just too much. Going out to Los Angeles by myself, competing with all these other people who were so talented. I burst into tears. My dad turned to me in the backseat. ‘Carrie,’ he said, ‘we can go home right now, and we don’t ever have to talk about it again.’ I took a deep breath. ‘No,’ I said at last. ‘I’ll go.’ ”

Matt Goss | Luke and Matt Goss are ‘closer than ever’

luke goss 2191014

Luke and Matt Goss are now “closer than ever”.

The twins first found international fame as part of the boyband Bros and despite their split in the early 90s, they have a “loving relationship” following their on-stage comeback in 2017.

Luke said: “Bros is back in the sense that we’re planning the new album.

“We’re coming up with our individual songs that we’re going to mush together.”

The brothers appeared in the documentary film ‘Bros: After the Screaming Stops’ in 2018, and Luke admits it’s proven to be a turning point in his career.

The London-born star – who now lives in Los Angeles – told the BBC: “The definitive Bros album is coming up. We’re working on it next year. And that might not have happened before [the documentary].”

Luke, 52, has been writing new music amid the coronavirus crisis, and he’s planning to release a rare solo single titled ‘Free’ in December.

He explained that his recent work has been made without any “compromise”.

Luke said: “I’m very proud of this music. It’s the first music I’ve ever made that is entirely my taste without compromise, so it’s a big statement. It’s me being me.”

The music star is also appearing in a new film called ‘The Loss Adjuster’, in which he plays a character who hits rock bottom before working his way back.

Luke admitted it’s a situation he can relate to.

He said: “A dark comedy in some ways.

“But I know how that feels, as most men do, where they’ve gone to that point where there’s that moment of crisis within their own prowess, financially or in their work or whatever, and it’s a moment of reinvention.”

Joe Russo | Joe Russo hails ‘brave’ Wonder Woman move

joe russo 2191013

Joe Russo thinks the decision to send ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ straight to streaming is “incredibly brave”.

The new Patty Jenkins-directed movie – which stars Gal Gadot as the titular character – is set to premiere on HBO Max in the US, and Joe believes the decision represents a “bold” move on the part of Patty and Warner Bros.

He explained: “I think Patty Jenkins said it best. She made something that she put an incredible amount of love and joy into, and now she’s ready to share it with the world. I think it’s incredibly brave and bold of her as a filmmaker.”

A number of big-budget films have been released on streaming platforms in recent months, with cinemas being forced to close because of the coronavirus pandemic.

And Joe, 49, now thinks that streaming platforms like HBO Max represent the future of the movie industry.

The director – who previously helmed ‘Avengers: Endgame’ and ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ alongside his brother Anthony Russo – told Collider: “I do think that this is the future of the business. There can be room for both digital and theatrical, and in fact, both could perhaps enhance each other’s business and experience.”

Meanwhile, Patty recently urged fans to watch the new ‘Wonder Woman’ movie in cinemas if it’s safe to do so.

The acclaimed filmmaker took to Twitter to address the issue of the film’s release.

She wrote on the micro-blogging platform: “THE TIME HAS COME. At some point you have to choose to share any love and joy you have to give, over everything else. We love our movie as we love our fans, so we truly hope that our film brings a little bit of joy and reprieve to all of you this holiday season.

“Watch it in THEATRES, where it is made safe to do so (check out the great work theatres have done to make it so!) And available in the safety of your home on HBOMAX where it is not. Happy holidays to all of you. We hope you enjoy our film as much as we enjoyed making it. (sic)”
