The ‘Girls’ creator reveals that she was diagnosed with Covid-19 the killer virus in mid-March and still experiences a host of problems after more than three months.

Lena Dunham is still recovering after battling Covid-19 in March (20).

The “Girls” star revealed in a lengthy Instagram post on Friday (31Jul20), titled “My Covid Story”, that she contracted coronavirus earlier this year, recalling, “It started with achy joints then the pain was joined by a crushing fatigue. Then a fever of 102.”

“Suddenly my body simply revolted,” Lena remembered, explaining she experienced serious symptoms for about three weeks, which she spent in isolation.

During her illness, she wrote that “the nerves in my feet burned and muscles wouldn’t seem to do their job. My hands were numb. I couldn’t tolerate loud noises. I couldn’t sleep but I couldn’t wake up. I lost my sense of taste and smell.”

“It felt like I was a complex machine that had been unplugged and then had my wires rerouted into the wrong inputs.”

Lena, who suffers from a host of illnesses, including Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, said that she did not have to be hospitalised as a doctor treated her at home – noting that “this kind of hands-on attention is a privilege that is far too unusual in our broken healthcare system.”

After a month, she tested negative for the virus – but is still experiencing health issues that she “did NOT have” before catching Covid-19, including swollen hands and feet, a constant migraine, and debilitating fatigue.

“Even as a chronically ill person, I had never felt this way,” the 34-year-old wrote, adding she was compelled to tell her story after seeing the “carelessness” of people when it comes to wearing masks, social distancing or taking other precautions to ward off the illness.

“When you take the appropriate measures to protect yourself and your neighbours you save them a world of pain,” she concluded.

David Beckham | David Beckham to launch his own range of honey

david beckham 2148113

David Beckham is set to launch his own range of organic honey.

The 45-year-old retired football star has taken up beekeeping whilst in lockdown, and has become so enthralled with the process of caring for the winged insects, that he wants to take his new hobby one step further by selling the honey his bees produce.

According to The Sun newspaper, David is looking at potential brand names including D Bee, Seven Honey, and Goldenbees, and his representatives have already begun meeting with prospective stockists and manufacturers.

An insider told the publication: ”Beekeeping started as a fun hobby early in lockdown. But now David has become a bit obsessed. He has all the gear, and even built a hive. He finds it a total antidote to his mad London and Miami life.

”But David is also very smart. He can see the logic behind adding to his already impressive business portfolio with authentic, clean and natural brands, which is what people are after nowadays.

”This isn’t about money, though – it truly is a passion project.”

David’s passion for honey comes as he recently released his aftershave Bold Instinct, which is currently the top-selling aftershave in the UK.

The business mogul also has a sunglasses range, a partnership with Haig whisky, and this year oversaw the launch of his MLS football club, Inter Miami.

Meanwhile, it was recently reported David is also in talks for his own documentary series about his life, which will focus on his retirement and his work with Inter Miami, as well as ”personal” moments from his marriage to Victoria Beckham, with whom he has four children.

A source recently said: It’s something David is excited about and has wanted to do for a while. The film will feature new content and archive footage.

”It’s going to be about David’s life post-football, especially the creation of his new team in Miami, but will have some personal content too.

”Interest in his life and family is huge.

”Everyone has high hopes for this.”

Lizzo | Lizzo: Body positivity no longer benefits all body types

lizzo for vogue magazine 2148067

Lizzo has slammed the body positivity movement for ”not benefiting” the people that ”created” the term.

The 32-year-old singer is known as an advocate for inclusivity, and has hit out at the way body positivity has become a ”commercialised” movement that no longer advocates for curvier body types.

She said: ”Now, you look at the hashtag ‘body positive,’ and you see smaller-framed girls, curvier girls. Lotta white girls. And I feel no ways about that, because inclusivity is what my message is always about. I’m glad that this conversation is being included in the mainstream narrative.

”What I don’t like is how the people that this term was created for are not benefiting from it. Girls with back fat, girls with bellies that hang, girls with thighs that aren’t separated, that overlap. Girls with stretch marks. You know, girls who are in the 18-plus club. They need to be benefiting from … the mainstream effect of body positivity now. But with everything that goes mainstream, it gets changed. It gets – you know, it gets made acceptable.”

And now, the ‘Truth Hurts’ hitmaker would refer to herself as ”body-normative” instead of body positive, because she wants to help others understand that ”being fat is normal”.

She added: ”I think it’s lazy for me to just say I’m body positive at this point. It’s easy. I would like to be body-normative. I want to normalise my body. And not just be like, ‘Ooh, look at this cool movement. Being fat is body positive.’ No, being fat is normal. I think now, I owe it to the people who started this to not just stop here.”

Lizzo wants to see people change their opinion of beauty standards, but knows doing so will make people ”uncomfortable”.

Speaking to Vogue magazine, she said: ”We have to make people uncomfortable again, so that we can continue to change. Change is always uncomfortable, right?”

Machine Gun Kelly | Machine Gun Kelly proud of Pete Davidson’s romance with Ariana Grande

machine gun kelly 2147887

Machine Gun Kelly thought it was ”symbol of hope” for all men when Ariana Grande started dating Pete Davidson.

The 30-year-old rapper was over the moon for his pal Pete when he asked the 27-year-old singer to marry him in 2018 as he was an ”average” looking man who managed to date the brunette beauty.

Speaking on ‘The Howard Stern Show’, he explained: ”I remember when like the Ari thing happened, I just looked at Pete and I was like, ‘Man, the average American dude is very proud.’ He was just like a symbol of hope, because he was one of the boys. Just one of the guys in the basement.”

Sadly, the couple broke off their engagement just four months later and called time on their relationship.

However, his short lived romance boosted the 26-year-old comedian’s confidence.

Kelly recalled: ”I was around for the whole creation of that term. That was an interesting time. That was kind of when I was crashing at their [Pete and Ariana’s] apartment in New York, when they were together. We would step on the streets and everyone would [look at him].”

Meanwhile, Kelly has found love with actress Megan Fox and he has already decided to ask Pete to be his best man if he was ever to pop the question.

When the host suggested the idea, he said: ”That’s cool. Yeah, I’m down with that.”

The couple seem serious about their relationship, as Megan has already introduced her beau to her sons Noah, seven, Bodhi, six, and Journey, four, whom she has with her estranged husband Brian Austin Green.

Although Kelly ”didn’t know what love was” until he met the ‘Transformers’ star.

He said: ”I didn’t know what [love] was until me and her made eye contact. That’s when I was like, ‘Whoa.’

”After I made the big chunk of the album [‘Tickets to My Downfall’], I did fall in love for the first time. That was my first experience with being open to love and stuff like that. I definitely wasn’t set up to believe that that’s something that could ever exist.”
