Rachel Brosnahan’s character in ‘I’m Your Woman’ “made [her] nervous”.

The 30-year-old actress portrays Mob wife Jean in the new film and she admitted she didn’t feel “comfortable” having to hold a gun in the movie and the weapon made everything around her feel “different”.

She told the New York Post newspaper’s Page Six column: “Sometimes in movies it feels like someone shoves a gun in the actor’s hand, whereupon power surges through his veins, and the person suddenly miraculously knows how to use it. I’m not comfortable handling guns.

“My character in this new film made me nervous. I’m bad at handling guns and — for the first time — it scared me. I hadn’t realised that suddenly I, and everything else around, would feel really different.

“For a film once before, I had to learn to shoot. I wasn’t happy.”

And it isn’t just on set that guns make the ‘Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ star uncomfortable.

She added: “Another only time was my single inexplicable date with a guy who for some reason took me to a shooting range. Trust me, this was a one date only.”

Rachel isn’t the only actress to share her unease at using a gun on camera.

Julianne Moore underwent FBI training for 2001’s ‘Hannibal’ and insisted she “hated” everything about handling a firearm.

She said: “I hate guns. Trainers tell you, ‘Oh, you’ll love shooting after a while.’ No. I hate loading. I always get my skin caught. I hate pulling the trigger.”

Gwyneth Paltrow swore never to wield one on screen again after just one experience.

She has said: “In ‘A Perfect Murder,’ I broke one of my cardinal rules of never touching a gun, and I actually was made to hold one. I won’t do that again.”

And Meryl Streep has insisted that stars shooting guns in their films just give firearms positive publicity.

She said in 1999: ““Every movie star who points a gun is not only selling their movie — they’re selling the gun. The NRA couldn’t pay these people enough money to hold a rifle for their ad — yet they’re making that ad — and for gratis. Our profession doesn’t take responsibility for the images we put out in the world.”

Drew Barrymore was so opposed to the idea of guns, she refused to have them used in ‘Charlie’s Angels’ – which she starred in and co-produced – so instead she, Cameron Diaz, and Lucy Liu underwent intensive martial arts training.

Keisha Buchanan | Keisha Buchanan: I’m focusing on work in 2021!

keisha buchanan 2225371

Keisha Buchanan says 2021 is her year for “work”.

The former Sugababes star has revealed she’s set herself “work goals” for the next 12 months, which include putting herself out there and taking some career risks that she’s always wanted to try.

She said: “A lot of the time, I make goals for personal growth. Like if I want to be more disciplined, more patient, whatever it is, I set those types of goals more so than anything else. But I think this year I really want to try and achieve some work goals.

“For me, I think that life is precious. I need to stop all this pussyfooting around and just not be in my head so much and just try. And do things that I enjoy.”

Keisha, 36, spoke as part of a YouTube video that outlined her plan for 2021, and said that speaking to her fans in her vlogs is something she wants to continue doing throughout the year.

She added: “I want to do things that I really enjoy doing, and this is one of them, speaking to you guys on camera. For some reason I feel like I’m able to just be myself and it feels great just being able to express myself. I talk to myself in my head all the time so this is great for me.”

The ‘Push the Button’ hitmaker also revealed she wants to prioritise exercise and healthy eating this year, as she’s keen to lose weight.

But Keisha can’t go running, as the exercise leaves her in pain.

She said in her video: “I’m at the point where when I’m walking, my knees are hurting. I can’t run because that’s just crazy. I can’t … even walking down the stairs really hurts.

“My last doctor’s appointment, they said my cholesterol is a bit high, so that’s how I know that I’m just like [I need to make changes]. I feel like my main thing is just making sure that I feel really good in my own body, and that I’m healthy.”

Genesis have rescheduled their ‘The Last Domino? Tour’ to September and October 2021.

The ‘Invisible Touch’ band have reunited for their first stage dates in 14 years but will now begin their tour across the UK and Ireland with a gig in Dublin on September 15 this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

We can’t wait to finally get this show on the road, but we feel the decision to move the tour is the best one for those planning on attending and for us as a band and crew. We hope now we can all relax a little more and focus on the music and having a good night.”

Phil is unable to play the drums any longer due to his long-standing spinal condition but revealed that he didn’t “force” Nic onto his bandmates.

The 69-year-old musician said: “I didn’t elbow him into the band. You can’t force a drummer onto these guys.”

Josh Franceschi | You Me At Six land second number one album: ‘Put some respect on the name!’

You Me At Six has told their haters to “put some respect on the name” after their new album ‘SUCKAPUNCH’ debuted at number one on the Official Albums Chart.

The ‘Bite My Tongue’ hitmakers scored their second number one album on Friday (22.01.21) when their seventh studio album – which was released last week – debuted at the top spot, marking their first chart-topping record since 2014’s ‘Cavalier Youth’.

And after thanking their fans for the impressive feat, frontman Josh Franceschi also reached out to anyone who doubted the group over the years.

In an video reaction clip, Josh said: “Thank you to our fans, you guys are incredible. Without you we wouldn’t be here after 15 years.

“Maybe most importantly, thank you to everyone who has caused us pain or wrote us off or said we were done. This is for you. We made this record for you, to remind you to put some respect on the name.”

‘SUCKAPUNCH’ also landed at number one on the Official Record Store Chart, after 85 percent of the album’s week one sales were physical copies, and half of those were purchased from independent record stores.

You Me At Six – who now have six top 10 albums to their name – beat Eminem to the top spot this week, as his 2019 chart-topper, ‘Music to be Murdered By’, placed at number three following the CD release of its B-side collection.

Elsewhere in the top five, Sleaford Mods scored their first ever top five album with ‘Spare Ribs’ debuting at number four, whilst US boyband Why Don’t We landed in fifth with their record, ‘The Good Times and The Bad Times’.

Meanwhile, in the Official Single’s Chart, 17-year-old Olivia Rodrigo has held the top spot for a second week running with her single ‘Drivers License’, whilst Anne-Marie’s collaboration with KSI and Digital Farm, ‘Don’t Play’, has debuted at number two.

Ariana Grande’s single ‘34+35’ has shot up eight places to number three after having narrowly missed out on a top 10 spot last week, and Little Mix’s ‘Sweet Melody’ has slipped down two places to fourth.

Rounding out the top five is Australian rapper The Kid Laroi with his single ‘Without You’.
